In the summer of 2006, Atlantan Woody Yeomans, the founder and creative mastermind behind the new Woodhouse Collection was preparing her daughter to be a freshman at the University of Mississippi. “I was helping Taylor get ready to move into her first dorm room, and of course, she wanted to have the ‘perfect room,’” Yeomans reflects.

With a roommate living in New Orleans, it just wasn’t that easy to coordinate how the two would decorate their dorm room. Yeomans, a former advertising sales executive says, “I would come home in the evening and we’d be rushing out to find something that her roommate had found in Louisiana. I was absolutely shocked at the trouble we had finding so many of the same things that Taylor’s roommate had purchased—and from national chain stores to boot. So I was running all over Atlanta not able to find what they had in New Orleans—especially in a twin extra-long size. I didn’t even know what that was! It was very frustrating and exhausting.”

Once the girls got to school, they realized that many others in their dormitory had the same problem, and the idea for Woodhouse Collection was born.

Woodhouse Collection puts the fun back into planning for the perfect dorm room, and capitalizes on the college sets’ Internet savvy. Shopping is easy for roommates who may be across the country from each other, but want the room of their dreams.
