Two Moms Open Swimwear Shop
When Christine Riccabona bought a bathing suit last year, it was an ordeal. The dressing room was the size of a closet, and the swimsuit model in the poster on the wall didn’t put her in the mood to buy.
So she and her sister-in-law, Rebecca Riccabona, set out to change the swimsuit-buying experience for women in their 20s to their 50s.
Their shop, Rio Cabana, opens today in the Rancho Del Mar shopping center in Aptos.
It offers a variety of chic styles, including tops and bottoms that can be bought separately, the popular bandeau top and tankinis. The choices include trendy brown, gold and animal prints from such brands as Asha Couture, Robin Piccone and RYGY, with prices ranging up to $150. The dressing rooms are ample.
The two store owners are both moms who live in Aptos. They knew each other from their family connections and felt they would work well together.
“We’ve very different style-wise,” Christine said. “We totally balance each other out”

Good thing they came up with this idea.. To that, lots of moms from different body figures will have variety of swimsuits to choose from, not to the usual sizes of swimsuits were feels like it was only made for “almost-perfect body figure” thing.
