Pekin Times:

Longtime real estate agent Gary Allen is debuting his cooking grease absorption invention called AbsorbEase on the national cable television station QVC.

AbsorbEase resembles a “very, very thick paper towel? that is “about a quarter-inch thick.?

The 7 x 7-inch disposable grease absorbing pads consists of two layers - an inner layer constructed of grease-absorbing material and an exterior layer consisting of grease-permeable material that traps the grease in the inner layer. It’s designed to be placed in a pan after cooking to absorb excess grease to allow a person to easily dispose of the cooking grease in the garbage without making a mess.

Allen came up with his idea for a cooking grease absorption contraption five years ago after he failed to find a satisfactory method of disposing of the cooking grease he collected after frying hamburger meat for Sloppy Joes.
