Menu Master, one of the largest providers of free menus and placemats to restaurants, has finalized its national expansion plans and will offer franchises across America. Founded in 1995, the Pennsylvania-based company began casually offering franchises last year. With franchises now in three states, the goal is to have 25 franchises within four years.
“Menu Master has the potential to take control of the industry and develop franchise locations offering higher quality products and services than offered anywhere,” said Cynthia Sweeley, founder and president of Menu Master. “The industry needs a national presence to bring the product quality, customer service and reliability not presently available in most parts of the country.”
Ads printed on the border of restaurant placemats have been around for more than 30 years, featuring hair salons, roofers, dentists and other businesses. Today, placemat and menu advertising is the fastest growing form of advertising.
“Restaurants can save as much as $4,000 a year,” Sweeley said. “In 2006, we provided more than 3,000,000 free menus and placemats to over 300 restaurants in Pennsylvania.”
Placemat advertising businesses are traditionally started by individuals on shoestring budgets, with a lot of trial and error. Rather than starting from scratch, however, many people prefer the benefits of owning a franchise; proven methods, training, credibility, a nationally recognizable business name, and uniformity.
“Menu Master costs one-tenth that of most franchises, but the income potential is as high or higher,” said Sweeley. “Franchisees work from home, significantly reducing overhead costs.”
Local businesses appreciate restaurants that allow advertising on their menus and placemats. And, patrons are grateful because disposable paper placemats reduce the transfer of disease-causing bacteria from tabletops and tablecloths to patrons. A study conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh found that even tabletops that had just been wiped clean have 415 times the bacteria of placemats.
“We have a successful program in place with a very strong foundation,” said Sweeley. “Now is the right time to take this business to the next level.”

I’ve been looking for a franchise and I think you just supplied me with the one I’ve been looking for. Menu Master seems like a great business opportunity. Thanks for letting us know about it.
