A Business Based On Poop

The Beacon News:

Pamela Kopcio didn’t know what to do when her second child, Annalyse, suffered a never-ending bout with diaper rash. She tried creams and medications. She sought advice from her doctor. She purchased various disposable diaper products. At last she thought the unthinkable — How ’bout cloth diapers?

Kopcio, of Aurora, began reading about the many advantages of her mother’s generation’s means of baby bottom care and decided to at least give it a shot. The problem was, she couldn’t find anybody in her area from which to purchase cloth diaper products.

So Kopcio cruised the Internet, discovered help online through The Real Diaper Association, and found the solution to her daughter’s diaper rash problems. And then, this stay-at-home mom with a background in marketing, started her own online cloth diaper business. Up and running as of July, Pam Kopcio’s new business, Green-Bebe, provides information and products to new and seasoned cloth diaper users. From all-in-ones to pocket diapers to fitted, prefolds, inserts and doublers, Kopcio has it all, as well as a wide range of baby products like changing pads, breastfeeding accessories and baby carriers. Kopcio said most of the products she offers are designed and made by women with children, many of whom are stay-at-home moms like her.

“I had no idea that there was this whole world out there,” Kopcio said. “If someone had shown me a cloth diaper (for my first child) I would have switched in a heartbeat. It’s so easy.”
