Two Blue Peas Supports Mompreneurs and Fair Trade
Two Blue Peas, a unique online baby boutique that brings together the hippest baby clothing, bibs, blankets, shoes, toys and gifts in a single easy-to-use website, opens its arms to creative mompreneurs in the U.S. and around the world.
Seeking out one-of-a-kind goods is Two Blue Peas’ forte, but the icing on the cake is stumbling upon stay-at-home – or rather work-at-home – moms who design, assemble and sell their own handmade baby items while at home raising their families.
Helen Huckaba, Two Blue Peas co-founder and accomplished mompreneur herself, “admire(s) this different breed of women who have the energy and drive to carry two full-time jobs”. Helen knows from experience that “juggling a small child in one hand and a small business in the other takes a lot of energy and a special kind of woman”.
These mompreneurs are not just native to the U.S. Two Blue Peas recently added goods from Yellow Label Kids, a Fair Trade Federation member whose handcrafted products are made by artisans spanning the globe from Chile to Nepal. The purpose of the Fair Trade Federation is to ensure craftspeople receive a fair price for their goods and have safe, healthy working conditions. Some of the female artisans are financially responsible for as many as 20 members of their extended families, and companies like Yellow Label Kids and ultimately Two Blue Peas help them to better care for their dependents.
