  • Randy on August 29th, 2007 at 6:52 am

If I had a 4 hour work week, I’d spend all my excess time traveling and learning. Maybe some formal college, but more importantly absorbing as much knowledge as I can while still taking the time to do the simple things - gardening, meeting new people, seeing new places, volunteering in the local community. There is never enough time to do everything that I want to do.

  • garethjax on August 29th, 2007 at 7:14 am

I would finally attend higher education the way i like it, instead of something forced upon me by the society. It would be fine to be literate for the pleasure of it.

  • UKpreneur on August 29th, 2007 at 2:53 pm

    I wouldn’t beleive it!!!

I was amazed to first hear about this guy, i watch an interview of him on CNN the day he released his book and i had to learn more. But the more i researched about this guy, the more i found out that maybe alot of his amazing claims were hype just to get people to buy his book.

Don’t get me wrong, im sure he only does work 4 hours per week, but his business is unique, not every business could adapt the same model:

    For example:

Ferriss’ book was released to the public on April 24, 2007. On the very same day, Ferriss’ book received 17 five-star reviews on amazon.com written by first-time amazon.com reviewers, leading journalists to question the credibility of these early reviews.

On pg 284 of Ferriss’ book, he shares with his readers a poem that he claims to have received from a terminally-ill girl. The poem, titled “Slow Dance”, is actually taken from a well-known email chain letter that was circulated on the Internet in 1999. The said poem was originally written in 1991 by David L. Weatherford, an adult male child psychologist.

Ferriss makes a number of claims on his blog and in his book, including:

In an article on his blog, Ferriss claims to have gained 34lbs of muscle in 4 weeks (not substantiated). The claims in this article have been criticized as being misleading and deceptive.

I would say make your mind up about this guy, by all means read his book but if it sounds too good to be true …..

  • Colin on August 29th, 2007 at 2:59 pm

Spend it helping those less fortunate than myself.

  • cyril simon on August 29th, 2007 at 6:05 pm

What would you do if you only had a four hour workweek?
Definitely, I will spend my time enjoying life. You can’t enjoy your life if you are sick, lots of work, busy doing your work, not enough time, working all day long, working 8 to 9 hrs daily, …

I would have plenty of time to do things I always want to do like traveling, site seeing, meeting friends, have fun with my son, enjoying the spare time with my wife, swimming at the beach, cooking, cycling, climbing, there are plenty to do. How I wish life is as easy as relaxing as this is. No need to worry going to work late, no boss pissing you around, to me life will be more meaning ful and fun. Surely we are not born to work, we are born to live and enjoy life.

  • Jo on August 30th, 2007 at 2:36 am

I’d train for a half iron man.

  • Zhuoshi on August 30th, 2007 at 8:18 am

I would do the things I enjoy: reading on the lawn, playing volleyball, etc., for two or three hours, then I’d write on my blog and develop a web site (which I also sort of enjoy).

  • Laura @ Laura Williams' Musings on August 30th, 2007 at 3:23 pm

Being that I am a mother of 7, I am on call basically 24/7. Just having a 4 hour work week would make me think I died and gone to heaven. lol I’d probably wouldn’t know what to do with myself.

This would be a nice book for hubby to read.

    stumbled.

  • Jill on August 30th, 2007 at 5:46 pm

I think I’d work on some fun hobbies for one, book travel for another, meet some new people for one, and spend one sorting out how to turn my four hour work week into a three hour work week.

  • Andrew on August 30th, 2007 at 11:09 pm

I would work from home like Ty Tribble creating multiple streams of income through internet marketing and be an even better father and husband because I would have the extra time to spend with them. I am really seeing now that time is our most precious commodity.

I would have more time to spend with my kids, to pursue my hobbies, to learn things without the pressure of worrying about whether or not it would be making money.

  • Reem on September 1st, 2007 at 12:20 pm

    I’d flip out…
If I had to work only 4 hours a week, I would be able to travel all year long, learn more languages, have more hobbies, write more, read more. I’d be able to think more, take care of myself more, which will make me be more aware of the world around me.
    The list is LONG!
One has the right to dream, right?

  • Pampered Jewel on September 1st, 2007 at 6:03 pm

If I only had a 4-Hour Work week I would use the time to do things I have neglected, such as:

    1) Volunteer More. My schooling is in Social Work and there is such a need in poverty driven areas.

    2) Travel More. Through my military travels I have been introduced to some great people all over the country and throughout the world that I’d love to visit.

    3) Learn More. Be it a language, a craft, skill, or history, it is important to keep the brain engaged.

    4) Train for a large sporting activity such as an Ironman, Triathlon, or marathon. Just to do it.
