Having A Bad Fur Day?

MSNBC:

First there were pet spas featuring puppy pedicures, so we should not be suprised that now dog lovers everywhere can make Fido more fashionable with celebrity-styled dog wigs.

The brainchild of Hollywood stylist Ruth Regina, the canine toupees are called Wiggles, and come in variety of shapes and sizes to accessorize the tiniest chihuahua to greatest dane.

However, Dr. Stephen Zawistowski, executive vice president of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals isn’t so keen on the idea. He told the News that the wigs could lead to allergic reactions, or even worse, they could getting tangled on something or the dog itself, causing injury.

Regina countered that her custom-designed wigs — which she said cost up to $29.95 — are safe for Spot. “I made sure that the ears would come out, that it would fit comfortably under and around the head, and that it would weigh as light as a feather,” she was quoted as saying.
