Inventor Puts New Spin On Dusting
In a crowded Miami workshop that once was a walk-in closet, David Kotkin designed GoDuster, a battery-operated duster that has put a new spin on an unpopular household chore.
GoDuster is a rotating brush that banishes dirt and dust from furniture, fans, electronics and tight spaces. Sold with a dusting spray and a washable brush, the motorized duster is gentle and safe enough to use on delicate ornaments, window blinds and plants.
Kotkin, South Florida school teacher and Miami inventor, developed the product five years ago after spinning a non-motorized, nylon duster.. Impressed by the enhanced cleaning power, Kotkin set out to create a spinning duster.
After a few false starts, he attached the handle of a duster to small battery-operated motor. He showed the invention to a family friend, an advertising executive, who arranged to have the product shown to marketing TeleBrands Corp.
