Do you look forward to spending time in your business office or cubicle or your home office? Is your work environment detracting from your daily productivity and peace of mind? If the answer is yes, perhaps it’s time to do a work space checkup.

1. Take an objective look at the work space. Stand at the entry or doorway and look into the space. Is it welcoming?

2. Based on space limitations, what would you envision the space to look like?

3. To meet your vision of what the space should look like, what needs to be in the space and what does not?

4. Is the major work area directly to your dominant side? If you are right-handed, the flow to your work area should be to the right and if you are left-handed, it should be to the left.

5. What shape is your chair in? Is it well-worn and does it need to be replaced? If so, now is the time to consider a replacement.

6. What about the lighting? Are there sufficient lamps or overheads so you can work comfortably without straining your eyes?

Many people spend hours every day in a work area that is not contributing to their productivity or peace of mind. The time spent improving our work space is paid back quickly with improved peace of mind and the ability to find what you need quickly when needed.
