Ten Ways to Defeat Brain Drain
Those of us who feel we are busy all the time can experience burn out, exhaustion and fatigue from spending long periods of time in focused concentration. I like to refer to this as Brain Drain.
Here are some ways to beat brain drain:
1. Meditate
2. Take A Walk
3. Listen to classical music
4. Read something entertaining
5. Take a caffeine nap
6. Go to a movie
7. Listen to motivational CDs
8. Play a sport
9. Break down your project into bite-sized chunks
10. Play a game
The good news is brain drain means you are using your brain at maximum capacity. The bad news is you are not giving your brain needed periods of rest. Rest is important for creative thinking and problem solving.

I offer retreats in Sedona, Arizona. Your brain drain steps are great and I might add that a retreat is a wonderful brain drain. A retreat from your life, job, and family allows down time. A short time away from demands and responsibilities is an amazing way to regenerate your body, mind, and spirit. We offer corporate retreats as well as personal retreats and our guests come for a day, three days, or up to a week. I love the idea of brain drain and all of the tips you gave work wonderfully. I would add this tip: Take a breath break. Set your watch to beep each hour or two hours and take ten long deep breaths each time. With each in breath pull your shoulders to your ears, and with each out breath drop them. This simple exercise speeds metabolism and releases stress in the upper neck and shoulders–where most hold tension.

Good advice, I think information overload is a major hazard in running an internet business. This because it’s easy to get bombarded by masses of information on virtually any subject.
Going for a walk and meditation are great ways to clear you mind. The beauty of nature can be enjoyed by anyone, any age, in any era.
Regards, Mark.
