Expo Expert Plans To Export Concept

The organiser of New Zealand’s small business expos recently went overseas to check out similar events and decided her “product” was so superior she should franchise it internationally.

Sarah Trotman can think of few such complex services as an expo fair that have been franchised.

“This is not a Starbucks,” she told NZPA.

Still, she remains confident it can be done in partnership with the right franchisees.

When she went to the Business Start-up Expo in London earlier this year she found it depressing.”I just had to get out of there. We were expecting to come away with lots of new tips and tricks on how to run our business… in terms of getting extra numbers through the door.”

Instead we had this brainwave that we would take our idea international.
