How Do You Work From Home?

When I first started out as an entrepreneur, I worked out of home.
One of the best pieces of advice I received was: “Get out of your pyjamas as soon as possible.”
In other words, even though you are working from home, you need to change your mind-set and start the day by “going to work”.
- Ensure you have a separate space. Have a clear area which can be considered your office. If you are spilling out all over the lounge, it’s harder to close the door on it at the end of the day.
- Set the boundaries with your kids or family. Make sure they know they can’t bust in on you at any time.
- Make it clear to your friends that you are working. When I worked from home, a friend of mine who lived nearby would drop in at a moment’s notice or suggest coffee and get irritated if I said ‘No’.
