The Gazette:

Worried that your participles are dangling or your infinitives might be split?

The Coralville woman behind TweakMyWords.com, Belinda Bombei, can come to the rescue.

She won’t write a paper for you, but for $7 a page, she’ll eliminate structure, grammatical, spelling and clarity issues in academic or professional papers in as little as 12 hours. The more time you have, the less it will cost you.

Offering editing services online was always a “thought in the back of my mind,” says Bombei, who has bachelor’s degrees in communications/journalism and English and a master’s in marketing communications. “It’s something that comes naturally to me.”

Her clients aren’t only college students. With a background in medical writing and certification in Web design, she also caters to the niche markets of osteopathic medicine and Web-based entrepreneurs.

Whether academic or professional papers, the copy is handled electronically. Clients get back two versions: The first shows every change; the other is a clean, revised copy.

“That way it’s kind of an educational tool,” Bombei says.
