In Telecommuting, Virtual, Work at Home

AppScout:

Standard business tools are evolving into a collection of targeted and indispensable virtual services we can’t believe we ever did without: They are taking shape to resurface the rocky terrain of the once bubble-soft tech market.

For example, take a site like GeeksOnTap.com, where the quaint traditional secretary has become a sci-fi worthy computer-based wunderkind: Virtual assistants (VA’s) pay for their own health insurance and they just pop up like that hologram of Princess Leia when you need a solid presentation for that afternoon meeting.

Other virtual business hubs include the newly-in-beta Marzar, which melds social networking (like LinkedIn), file sharing (like 4shared), and syndication (like Liberated Syndication).

While Skype has pioneered free overseas video calls, Jetnumbers is leapfrogging to offer the first third-party virtual phone-number service for Skype users, to over 50 countries.
