Success With A Smile

Sunshine Coast Daily:

“We aim to have a belly laugh every day.”

These are the words of Jeanette Jones, who says her business TRAC Consulting, which she runs jointly with its founder and her husband Mark, is a values-driven organisation.

But in among the honesty, transparency, communication and respect is a firm emphasis on fun.

“Having a belly laugh every day keeps us sane and it helps us look at the bright side. There is always a silver lining,” she said.

TRAC Consulting is certainly on a silver-lined cloud nine right now, poised for global expansion, the creation of various growth-driven off-shoots to the company, the formation of an umbrella Training, Resources and Consultants group of companies and a possible move from its home base to an office premises.

Mark Jones, a former director of coaching for the Australian Canoe Federation, established TRAC Consulting in Sydney 11 years ago.

Jeanette came on board seven years ago when the couple married and then relocated to the Sunshine Coast a year later.

TRAC will next focus on offering the Sunshine Coast Growing Creative Businesses program with Caloundra City Enterprises and is looking for up to 100 small businesses to be mentored in the next 18 months.

It has also won a prestigious contract to handle Victorian firm SED Consulting’s launch into Queensland that will create another wing to the business.

But perhaps the biggest source of excitement for the business is its impending expansion into South-East Asia, New Zealand and America with its Best Year Yet online performance management and accountability program, to which it owns the Australian franchise rights.

Why this story is important: Now-a-days people are looking for their business to grow overnight. This Australian couple have shown people that it’s possible to let the business grow from home at it’s own speed until the time is right. In their case it may have taken 11 years, but now they’re looking at a global expansion that many businesses only dream of.
