Inventor Patricia Littwin’s persistence paid off earlier this week when she showed off her Yackle Ball to a national television audience.

Littwin presented the ball she refers to as the next sport sensation on “The Big Idea” with Donny Deutsch on Monday.

Littwin did a segment called “The Moment of Clarity,” in which she demonstrated how the Yackle Ball works and how she came up with the idea. “Going on there was amazing,” Littwin said.

She envisioned the Yackle Ball years ago as a way for her three children, who have different athletic abilities, to play together. She began selling the Yackle Ball in May 2006, she said, turning her first profit last June.

Littwin said so far the feedback has been terrific. The company’s Web site traffic has gone up and a lot of stores have called in reorders.

“I’ve had stores sell out as soon as they get the balls,” she said.

Littwin said she hopes the show’s producers ask her back. “It’s all about opportunity and relationships,” she said.
