Mom's Business Blooms
Suzi Heaton wants to be a stay-at-home mom.
She has half of the equation already, in 10-year-old Madison and 7-year-old Nicholas.
The other half is on its way, in the form of an online children’s boutique called Maddy Rose after her daughter.
Heaton, 31, said being home would mean she’d no longer dread the phone calls from the school nurse that her kids are sick. She wouldn’t have to make the drive from her job as an executive assistant for a Fortune 500 company in New Jersey to her home in Falls in time for a sports game or to make dinner.
“I want to chaperone field trips,” Heaton said. “I want to meet the kids at the bus stop after school. I want to have dinner served at a reasonable hour. I don’t want to miss sporting events that take place right after school. There are a lot of reasons.”
The Maddy Rose Boutique sells designer children’s clothing, accessories, furniture and other products for children and moms.
“I love children and babies,” Heaton said. “When I was pregnant, it was the most exciting time of my life. The one thing I didn’t like about it is we’d have to drive [far] to boutiques. It was pretty inconvenient.”
