One Moms' Business Created 'Simply For Giggles'
Motherhood gave Tanya Keith an opportunity to reinvent her career, but what she created took on a life far beyond what she envisioned.
When her daughter, Aviva, was born five years ago, Keith, a stay-at-home mom, set about decorating Aviva’s bedroom. That was the inspiration Keith, who is a mural painter, needed. She saw an opportunity to offer her design and mural-painting services for kids’ rooms, to make a little money and to get out of the house one day a week.
Her home-based business quickly grew into a retail shop, Simply for Giggles, in the East Village. It opened in July 2005. That has been so successful that in August 2007 she opened a second store in the West Glen Town Center in West Des Moines. It specializes in bedroom furniture for babies and children, baby products, toys and baby accessories.
