Sewing Up A Tea Party
It’s not often we hear about people taking a moment for tea. Karen Hattaway still does. She’s even built a business around it. Sweet Necessi-Teas is an online boutique that offers wonderful little tea treasures such as aprons, cup/saucer totes, clothing, and other accessories that can be enjoyed.
A mother and wife, Karen was a sahm of 2 children and her husband’s an airline pilot. After 9/11 the problems that happened soon after in the airline industry forced her to consider some other options. She’d been dreaming of owning her own store for years now, enjoying the crafts she’d been doing and selling at local stalls she decided it was time to move online. Selling through Ruby Lane under “Dressed For Tea” she got things started.
In 2006 she finally gained enough confidence in her products that she took the next step and started her own website. Starting with clothing and aprons the website has grown to include tea sets and more.
Visiting Karen’s website a see a simple sweetness about it that makes it different in it’s own way. It also takes an approach that is personal for those that purchase her items. Whether it’s a mom and her daughter sitting for tea or two friends.
