A courier service from New Zealand called Deadline Express Couriers decided to demonstrate the timeliness of their deliveries with a bang.
For that purpose, a promotional campaign was devised involving a billboard that was placed in the middle of the city. This billboard was fitted with a digital countdown clock rigged to self-destruct at zero hour.
The dramatic explosion, which was witnessed live by thousands of people, was also captured via a live streaming webcam of the countdown linked to Deadline’s homepage. They estimate that a total of 1 million people saw the explosion.

This is definitely a neat way they chose to promote themselves. I would have loved to see that.
