I agree with this post, and i think its much better if the costumers also hear how good your product or service is, and how it differ from other products or services.

Have you noticed that local newspaper ad revenue is way down?? … Its because very few people read it. It is one of last places you want to spend your marketing dollars these days unless you have one of those unique cities where people do still read the paper… very few still exist.
