ComfortStay Helps Seniors And Helps Create Senior Care Businesses

As our loved ones get older, senior care is becoming more important. Non-medical home care is growing in popularity as more seniors are looking for a little help that can make the difference between staying in their own home or having to go into an assisted living residence.

The President of ComfortStay Assistance, Michael J. Gultz, is not only known for his business but also for being a small business coach, strategist, entrepreneur and speaker.

The ComfortStay opportunity is not just a business, it’s an opportunity for those that want to do something where they know they will be able to help others in a caring way.

Michael was kind enough to take the time to tell me a little more about his business as well as the opportunity they offer.

What inspired you to create ComfortStay Assistance?

I was inspired to start ComfortStay Assistance after wanting to provide a quality service to the elderly and being dissatisfied with what the franchise opportunities had to offer and what they charged. I knew I would be able to put together an offering for entrepreneurs that could be more valuable than a franchise offering at a fraction of the cost as well as a successful agency for myself.

What kind of senior care assistance is offered? Is it limited to seniors?

ComfortStay Assistance offers instruction to new senior home care businesses who will provide non-medical Senior Home Care services to individuals needing assistance with everyday tasks and obligations following surgery or general in-home confinement as in the case of elderly individuals. The primary services that the agency will provide include: companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housework, incidental transportation, errands, shopping and much more. The Caregivers ensure that the clients maintain their independence and happiness in the safety of their own homes. We are also able to help post surgery patients, expecting and new mothers and basically any other adult that needs help with non-medical type services.

If someone is interested, what would you say are the requirements to qualify for your business opportunity?

The main requirements to qualify for our business opportunity would be to want to start a Senior Home Care Business and most importantly share our genuine interest in helping the elderly.

How much is the minimum/maximum cash investment?

As a general rule of thumb a minimum of $15,000 is recommended to start the business. As far as a maximum goes… the sky is the limit. In the real world cash is king, so the more money you have on hand, the better position you are in.

We believe that our home care agency model is one of the greatest business opportunities available today. It is an emotionally rewarding business that allows for the senior home care business owner to reap the benefits of home care agency ownership while making a positive difference in the everyday lives of the elderly.

Did you have any experience that you were able to bring with you into the creation of ComfortStay?

When creating ComfortStay I was able to build upon my experience running other service businesses as well as my business coaching and consulting experience. The fact that I already had a network of business resources built put us in a great position to be successful.

How long did it take for you to create your business plan?

It took approximately 6 months of leg work to get everything in place to best help other entrepreneurs.

When did your business officially launch? Did you start offering your business opportunity right away?

We have been offering our opportunity since the start of our business in August of 2006. Prior to that we were providing business coaching and consulting to various small and medium size businesses including other senior home care agencies.

Do you have a favorite book or resource that you’ve found to be especially helpful?

There is a publishing called Wealth Creation Strategies that I have found to be both inspirational and practical. You may receive these by contacting us through our website at http://www.qualitycompanionship.com. Entrepreneur.com has an abundance of information and resources available as well.

Do you have any special tips you would like to share with new people entering into the senior home care business? What is some of that advice?

When starting your senior home care agency it is important to put into place systems and processes that assure you will be compensated while servicing a client. Once these are in place it is important that you focus on the “Help” you are providing and not the money. In order to be successful you need to help as many people as you possibly can. The money will follow.
