Earn Money Being A Stay-At-Home Mom

Sun.Star Baguio:

For those women who need to earn money for sheer survival, often the question of availability of time is irrelevant. Women too from poor families invariably try to find some work or the other.

In these cases, it is seen that household enterprises and micro-enterprise becomes an attractive option, if opportunity is available. The women can usually take care of their children along to the place of business, and manage to attend to the needs of the children even in the midst of routine business activity.

Some women say, “I am a stay-at-home mom, but I also work from home (VERY part-time!)” Others state, “It is nice to be able to be with my kids but still help providing for our family”.

I have had several people ask me about “work-from-home” opportunities.

The nice thing about this is that anyone can do it – without ever having to leave your home!

But, there are many social factors constraining women from venturing into entrepreneurship while at home. It is pointed out that women who may want to set up their own small enterprise are inhibited by lack of capital, lack of marketing avenues and labeling and packaging. Women also have fewer networks, all of which further limit their growth.

However, the Baguio City Government through the offices of City Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. and Councilor Betty Lourdes F. Tabanda (GEAD Program) in cooperation with the Baguio-Benguet Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and other identified partners in government line agencies and private sectors in tourism and trade industries like Bahai will undertake innovative support system in strengthening and assisting the women sector.

If you are interested in earning some extra monthly income while at home, then please contact the BBCCII Office at 446-6796. Inquire about all the information as there are lots to learn on home-based livelihood opportunities.
