College Startup:

Outsourcing isn’t something you do for its own sake; you do it because you know that it will lead to more productivity and in effect, profitability. So thk it through. Here are a few things to remember about the negative side to outsourcing:

Outsourcing can be a threat. If another party is keeping your books and answering your phone calls, they’ll have access to certain secrets. Numbers, product details, certain operations.

You lose talent inside within your company. If you keep relegating the work to someone else, you won’t likely master or develop the skills yourself. You’d deprive yourself of experience, which you would have you gained had you not handed the task over to someone else.

You lose control. Precisely because you’ve handed the reigns to someone else. It is much harder to manage persons who aren’t directly under your control.

That may be so, but if you outsource to someone who proves that they will provide the needed dedication to the job, it would appear to me that the benefits outweigh the risks.

Of course there may be some skills you won’t develop with someone else handing the work for you, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take the time to educate yourself.

All in all, to every positive there is a negative. Just have to determine which is more important to you and your needs.

Outsourcing for many home business entrepreneurs simply means that they haven’t developed all the skill necessary to implement and run an online business.

Although we all understand that some tasks do indeed require this, I have found it cheaper to maintain a cost respective aproach, or learn it myself.
