What is ZAPP! Gum?
ZAPP! Gum is a premium Sugar Free Chewing Gum line that we have manufactured since 2002. It has been a growing favorite with health conscious consumers in 35 countries.
What are some of the things that set your product apart from others available on the market?
There are many differences between our ZAPP! chewing gum line and the mainstream Sugar Free Chewing Gum offerings that almost everyone is familiar with. There are, of course, a number of Sugar Free Chewing gum products out there. However, when you don’t use sugar to sweeten gum, you have to use something else to replace that, clearly. All the mainstream chewing gum brands use a combination of Artificial sweeteners, such as Aspartame and many others. The reason they use artificial sweeteners is that they are very inexpensive and very sweet. However, as more and more people become health conscious, more and more questions continue to surface about the long term safety of artificial sweeteners, particularly Aspartame.
With our ZAPP! Gum, we use 100% all natural Xylitol exclusively to sweeten our product line. So, we are the only mainstream chewing gum that doesn’t use sugar, but also doesn’t use artificial sweeteners like Aspartame. Xylitol is roughly the same sweetness of sugar, but with 40% fewer calories, and it’s most widely known in the dental community because Xylitol is proven to help prevent cavities. It’s gaining significant applause in the diabetic community because it has a glycemic index of 7 and is metabolized independently of insulin. You might find trace amounts of Xylitol in a few of the popular mainstream brands, but it’s about 1/6 as much per piece as ours, and it’s used in conjunction with artificial sweeteners. So it’s not enough to be effective, it’s side by side with artificial sweeteners, but it’s enough so they can use it as a marketing buzz word and put it on their packaging. Our gum is the exact opposite, 100% Xylitol sweetened, nothing else, and without changing normal consumption patterns, you can enjoy the dental and health benefits which means customers make the switch without chewing any more gum or spending any more money than they already do.
Although your opportunity doesn’t officially launch until August 1st, how does someone sign up to become a ZAPP! Team Member Distributor? Are there any special incentives for those who get in now?
There are a number of incentives for pre-launch enrollees. The first 5000 enrollees prior to August 1, 2008 will get an IPod Shuffle at no charge when they join as a team member. Additionally, getting involved during the pre-launch phase allows people that are serious about the long term opportunity to get very early placement. This is more powerful than any other incentive. For instance if only 20000 people in say Florida know about ZAPP gum, and only 100 of them know about the opportunity, there is a lot to be said about being enrolled early so you can be one of the pioneer team members to grow the brand. Our customers also like having a stake in “their gum company” most people can’t say that they have “their own gum company”. A lot of people really like the David vs. Goliath factor that exists as well. We’re a product company first, one that has been successfully growing for 6+ years. But, we’re no Wrigley, and a lot of team members like being part of something where they can help bring a superior product into an enormous existing market previously dominated by 2-3 large companies, there is a tremendous amount of pride derived from that element as well.
What do Team Member Distributors receive when they join?
Team members, at a minimum, get a sales kit with the overview of the program, marketing materials, an instantly live replicated website, samples of the product, and the opportunity to immediately purchase at wholesale. This is of course in addition to anything else we may have as a limited time incentive like the IPod Shuffle for instance.
Is there a minimum investment to get started?
To sign up, and receive the sales kit, website, and above mentioned materials, there is a $49.95 fee plus shipping and handling. However, most team members also order a variety sampler of the gum since they want to chew it, and they also want to share it so that they can help educate others about the product line, and if interested the opportunity to become a team member.
How exactly does this opportunity work?
As a team member, you immediately have the ability to buy any amount of gum at wholesale. So whether it’s for your own consumption, whether it’s for marking up and selling at retail price points, or for giving away, you have the ability to buy gum at wholesale right off the bat. For those that are interested in building their own team and using the power of numbers to grow their organization, we use one of the simplest compensation plans available. We pay out up to 6 tiers on a “Unilevel” program, and through those 6 tiers our team members can earn up to 28% percent. Some key things that we focus on regarding our compensation plan are integrity, simplicity, and duplication.
1) Integrity: we have been in business for over 7 years, and we have a large existing customer base. Therefore, we did not adjust our price points or our product only to offer a more “lucrative” payout structure appealing to lifelong network marketers. So rather than all of a sudden charging $2 a pack so we could pay out 50%, we were not ever going to stray from our historical pricing levels. We are a product company first, always have been, and we just see Network marketing as a perfect vehicle for our expansion, but not at the cost of the product or the customer. We feel it’s important that people are able to acquire our superior gum for about what they already pay with other brands out there.
2) Simplicity. The compensation plan we feel needs to be easy to understand, just like our product. We don’t want to take a fun, simple, easy to understand product and couple it with a compensation plan that takes 30 minutes to understand. That leads us to:
3) duplication. If people are easily able to see the benefits and value of the product, see the same in the compensation plan, then we feel they will be most effective at relaying the information to others very easily, which is the crux of the growth potential at our team members fingertips.
Do you have any advice for any of our readers that are interested in joining as, or may already be, a Team Member Distributor?
Our advice is through us, or your sponsor, or the materials, get comfortable with the selling points and unique advantages our gum has. Then just talk about it. Gum is a social product. If someone pulls a pack of gum from their pocket or purse, we offer it to others around us. It’s a perfect conversation starter. It’s as easy as telling them about the benefits of the gum at that point, and for those that are interested, they can discuss the opportunity as well. But our philosophy is pretty simple. If you could chew a gum with no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, and that was proven to help prevent cavities, all for the same price as what you or your family members already chews, then why wouldn’t you? Couple that with the fact that you could join the team and have your own business, and it’s that much more compelling. Unlike many other opportunities, we are not coming out with some overpriced miracle product that has to create its own new market. We have a superior gum, and gum is already chewed by roughly 200 million Americans, so the market is already there, it’s just about alerting people that there is something better out there.
An interesting message from one of our successful dental hygienist team members was that over our lifetimes, we may own 7-10 cars. And for the most part we have trained ourselves to change the oil every 3,000 miles to prevent problems with the “health” of the car. Yet we are only given one set of teeth, and very little prevention is focused on despite the fact that not one single person likes cavities. We think the message is pretty powerful when something enjoyable, like chewing our gum, doesn’t cost you anymore and helps you and your family prevent cavities and improve health.

The gum industry is a very competitive market. With or without sugar free. Although there has been a growing trend towards health conscious products out there.

There product is not good and they do not pay their bills. So my thought is the product is going to fail. Busness’s can’t cheat other compainies out of money and last. They run out of people to steal from.
