New Page For Working Mom

BCLocalNews.com:

Drowning in dirty diapers, Rebecca Miller-Ouellette knew she wanted to go back to work. But as a new mom she faced the same question that all new moms face; do I stay at home, or do I go back to work. More importantly, can I afford to stay home?

“A lot of moms can’t afford to stay home anymore,” said Miller-Ouellette who lives in Sardis.

She is one of those moms. Already working a part time job to help her husband pay the bills, Miller-Ouellette wanted to start her own business. On her own terms. And about something that she loves; being a mom.

“I put my passion for writing and for children together,” she said. Together they formed Bambino; a free bimonthly pregnancy and parenting magazine for moms in the Fraser Valley.

“As soon as I was pregnant I tried to read as much baby literature as I could get my hands on,” said Miller-Ouellette. “I picked up as much as I could. But almost everything was geared towards Vancouver moms, and it doesn’t suite us moms out here.

“And I realized, there’s nothing for moms in the Fraser Valley.”

It was during her maternity leave that she decided to start the magazine not only for Fraser Valley moms, but also by Fraser Valley moms. And with advertisements for Fraser Valley mompreneurs.
