Donny Deutsch At The BIG Idea:

Many of the entrepreneurs who appear on my show often tell me one the biggest challenges they faced was finding a business partner.

Selecting the right partner is detrimental to your success and the success of your business.

The right choice in a partner can take you to a whole new level and amazing growth but the wrong choice can cause you to crash and burn.

    1. Take a good look in the mirror and evaluate your strengths and weaknesses.

    2. Find a believer.

    3. Be selective and take your time in choosing a partner.

    4. Establish specific roles and responsibilities.

This has been one of my largest challenges while being an entrepreneur. Several partnerships have not worked out in the past, because the other person was never as passionate or into the business; arguably, they are possibly not even cut out to be entrepreneurs at all. Finding new partnerships is so difficult, because often times you’re trying not to broadcast too loudly what it is you’re working on, but no one else could possibly become a believer when you’re not sharing the whole picture. It’s a rough balance that I haven’t quite figured out yet.

Do you have any suggestions on where to actually network for partners?

I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean “detrimental” in the opening sentence. Perhaps “insrumental”. You should probably note that unless you want to turn people off from finding the right biz partner :)
