Biz Resource: Discover Games

August 5, 2008 by Rich | 4 Comments
In Creativity, Invention, Resource

Discovergames.com is THE resource for toy and game inventors to learn about the industry and show their products to board game retailers, manufacturers & licensors and game players at fairs and expos around the world, e-newsletters, co-op mailings and website listings.

In between inventors & retailers are game suppliers, reps and agents. We bring everyone together and promote toy, card and board game inventors as the celebrities they are.

The web site is the brainchild of Mary Couzin . “Great games do not make it to the mass market or even game stores because inventors find it difficult to sell their games,” she says. “Just because you’re creative, doesn’t mean you can sell games. The internet is the perfect medium.”

Ready to invent your own game? Discovergames offers links to information on inventing, toy conventions and game retailers.

A great resource!

Very cool idea. I love board games but I have difficulty getting people to play them with me.

Thank you for a terrific write-up!

We are now also offering a Toy and Game Inventor Forum as well. Speakers include Richard Gill, the genius who made Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary household names and top execs from Hasbro and Mattel as well as many other companies that you can learn from and mix and mingle.

There is more information at http://www.toyandgameinventors.com

Again, thank you for the mention. I know what it is like for a new inventor, I was there once myself!

I should have also mentioned that we are also hosting a Toy Inventor of the Year and Game Inventor of Year Awards generously sponsored by Hasbro as our lead sponsor and Mattel as our supporting sponsor. It will be an amazing night.

Our toy and game inventors need to be recognized. If you sell 1 million books, you are on the NY Bestseller list. 1 million CDs, the cover of Rolling Stone. Over 100 million toys or games and no one knows who you are. We are working to change that.
