New Shop Looks For Out-Of-The-Box Merchandise
Downtown Naperville might be packed with more eateries in a half-square mile than just about anywhere other than Chicago. But man – and woman – does not live by bread alone.
Just more than a year ago, Chris Finck, 40, and his wife, Sue, 39, added a boutique to the downtown shopping experience. The couple, who originally came from Maryland, now live in Naperville and wanted to bring a different shopping experience than another corporate store. So, they opened Little Luxuries. The business they took over had been named Floral Bliss, and while the Fincks have continued to include floral designs in their merchandise, Sue Finck has expanded into a broad line of home decorating ideas, baby clothes, jewelry and gifts.A former stay-at-home mom, Sue Finck was looking for something to do on her own, following a former position at the Limited Express where she said she continually ranked in the top 10 percent in sales. She wanted to try her hand at her own business.
“People come into this store, which is only about 900 square feet, and it takes them almost a half hour to wander through it all,” Finck said. “So many people come in and say, ‘It’s so beautiful – it’s like a home.’ They love seeing something here in the downtown area besides the corporate businesses.”
