Babies'R'Us Announces Exclusive Partnership with Designer Amy Coe
Babies”R”Us today announced an exclusive partnership with designer Amy Coe to offer an extensive new collection of baby merchandise for today’s fashion-conscious moms and gift givers. The broad assortment of products by Amy Coe includes modern infant furniture, colorful bedding sets, fun room decor, trendy diaper bags, whimsical plush and gifts, adorable meal-time accessories, plus stylish layette and apparel for infants and toddlers. The Amy Coe Collection at Babies”R”Us is the largest product introduction by an exclusive designer in the company’s history. It debuts this month in more than 230 Babies”R”Us stores nationwide and online at www.Babiesrus.com.
Known for her contemporary, clean designs in bright colorful patterns that can be layered, mixed and matched, the Amy Coe Collection at Babies”R”Us includes four new bedding designs: Pink Pop, Dot 2 Dot, Zoo Baby and Simply Swirl. Each distinctive design has its own identity, featuring a combination of bold stripes, dots, swirls and patterns. Complementary accessories, such as frames, albums, bibs, towel and washcloth sets, burp cloths, and splat mats, provide fashionable accents. Novelty gift bags, cards and wrap, from American Greetings, were also designed by Amy Coe as part of the new collection.
Amy Coe’s partnership with Babies”R”Us will mark her first foray into the furniture category. Her furnishings assortment includes cribs, dressers and changing tables, in rich walnut and pure white with warm pecan accents, and an ottoman and combination rocker/glider in deep chocolate brown. Graphic artwork, colorful rugs and storage items are also available to accessorize the nursery.
Marriage, motherhood and a passion for design set the stage for Amy Coe to turn a hobby into a brand name and thriving career. In 1983, she began using rare, pure cotton vintage textiles to produce unique throw pillows, which became highly sought after by stores nationwide. Following her daughter’s birth, she identified a void in the juvenile marketplace for sophisticated patterns that would allow moms to create stylish nurseries for their little ones. She expanded her line to include baby bedding and accessories, gaining a loyal following along the way. In 1993, her hobby became Amy Coe, Inc., and her flagship store opened in Westport, Conn. in 2006.
