Jennifer Martin started by making T-shirts as gifts for friends. The first went to Sabrina Watson, a receptionist at Moore Optometric Eye Center in Lexington.
The brief slogan on the front of her shirt, printed in text-message shorthand, read “ichkuin” (I check you in).
Martin, a paraoptometric with Moore Eye, placed additional shirts with other medical professionals in Lexington and Winston-Salem.
A nurse at the Women’s Center of Lexington received one with the inscription “igvushots” (I give you shots).
Employees at Community Drug Store received shirts saying “ifilurmeds” (I fill your meds). And suddenly a business - icarewear - was born.Just launched in June, icarewear (”show how you care in what you wear”) offers all-cotton, pigment-dyed T-shirts and canvas totes bearing phrases not just for medical personnel, but also for people working in education (iteachurkid), athletics (icoachurkid), fire and rescue (isaveurlife), cosmetology (igvustyle), veterinary science/ grooming (itrimurdog), finance (ihlpusave) and other vocations (iclnurhouse, imowurgrass, imakeurbrew, ikeepurkid, isndurflowrs). Many other phrases are available in each category.

this is cool…show how you care in what you wear and telling what your work in what you wear is a very nice idea.
