Tees For Moms

New Jersey Monthly:

Proud mother of one? Have twins? Maybe three children?

More?

Hillsborough mom (of three) Marlo Moleski wants you to proclaim it to the world, on the fashionable tops and tote bags she designs.

It all started after she gave birth to her youngest daughter, Demiana, in 2006. “I’d be out alone with her and people would ask me if she was my only one, so I kept saying I’m a mother of three,” she says. She also has Nicolette, now six, and four-year-old Luke.

“That gave me the idea for the tee-shirts,” she says. “I wanted to create shirts that told your story and made you look good.”

She had a background as a graphic designer, and in November of last year created shirts that said things like “Mommy Of Two,” or “New Mommy” or “Baby # 4.” The numbers go up to five.

At first, she sold mostly to friends and friends of friends, in person or through her website www.luckymetee.com. Moms loved the shirts, so she decided to try to make it into a real business and attended her first trade show at the Jacob Javits Center in May.

The result: Her line expanded and is now available in some 40 stores across the country. In New Jersey you can find it at Arts Plus Gallery in Collingswood, Bellezza Boutique in Turnersville, Birth Boutique in Denville, Cashmere in Bernardsville, Divine Obsessions in Manalapan, and Pop in Please in Franklin Lakes.
