Should My Biz Have A Toll-Free Number?

AllBusiness.com:

Consider getting a toll-free number for your small business. These numbers can be a powerful sales and marketing tool. Consumer research shows:

• Customers are much more likely to call a business with a toll-free number than a business with a long-distance number.

• Toll-free numbers boost consumer confidence. Consumers assume that businesses with toll-free numbers are larger and more stable than their competitors.

  • Its much better if a business has a toll free number. Aside from mentioned above, costumers can easily remember a business if it has a toll free number.

  • I think toll free numbers greatly increase the professional image of a business. They don’t have to be expensive either. I use kall8 ( http://www.toll-free800.com/12807.htm ) and it’s just $2 per month and about 7 cents per minute. I was skeptical that such inexpensive service could be high enough quality, but it really is.

  • You should absolutely have a toll free number. Look at http://www.800forall.com. The search mechanism is first rate (think google for toll free numbers). You can get your number for $9.95 one time charge but you have to find your own carrier. The good news is you own the number (not shared use).
