Tina Turner and Amway?
The queen of rock ‘n’ roll sharing her glow with SA8 laundry soap and Nutrilite vitamins? What’s up with that?
It’s not an easy association, you have to admit.
But Oct. 1, the iconic singer known for belting out “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” launches her first concert tour since 2000, a tour that also will re-introduce the Amway name to the North American market.
Beginning with a sold-out show in Kansas City, the tour called “Amway Global Presents Tina Turner Live in Concert” will stage 36 shows in 20 cities.
Unfortunately, the closest show to Amway’s Ada headquarters will be in Chicago.
The sexy singer is a whole new image for the company long associated with conservative, white-guy values and the baggage of old controversies.
The hope is good vibes from Tina’s ageless energy, talent and beauty will rub off on Amway products as the company launches its first aggressive advertising campaign in decades.
