The 17th International Exposition on Food Processing, Packaging, and Handling Machinery or Asia Food Expo 2008 opens today at the World Trade Center in Manila. Asia Food Expo 2008 will exhibit a wide array of machines for packaging, food processing, high-tech food service equipment, and kitchen and baking equipment. There will be displays of food and beverages, food ingredients and food-related items. There will be specialized food presentations, culinary activities, cooking demonstrations, seminars, and food franchising sessions.
Asia Food Expo 2008 is being held in conjunction with Food and Drinks Asia or the 12th International Exposition on Specialty Foods, Delicatessen, Confectionery, Beverages, Beers, Wines & Spirits; Food Franchising or the 12th International Food Franchising and Business Systems Exposition; and Food Serv Asia or the 8th International Expo on Foodservice, Catering Systems, Supplies, Equipment, and Technology. This yearâ€™s event is expected to top the 552 exhibitor companies recorded in 2007 and attract more than the 42,800 visitors to last yearâ€™s event.
Asia Food Expo will have exhibits of partner countries, including US Pavilion set up by the US Department of Agriculture, the French Pavilion of the Le Club French Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, the Malaysian Pavilion organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corp., the Taiwan Pavilion of Asia Media, Inc., and exhibits of the Embassy of Austria Commercial Section and the Embassy of the Netherlands. Our own Department of Agriculture will showcase Philippine processed foods and other products.
