Recharging Your Batteries For Fall

Rhonda Abrams At Gannett News Services:
Yikes! Where did summer go? It seems like — suddenly — it’s once again Fall, and time to get back to work.
Fall is a critical time for most companies. Other businesses — your clients and customers — are ready to once again pay attention to work. In my own business, this past week, my phone was ringing with people wanting to set up meetings, talk about projects — and it was still August!
Fall is the time for trade shows, conferences, and conventions. It’s when retailers start stocking up for the holidays. Even consumers will be more likely to make big purchases or home improvements now.
But what happens when you don’t want to go to work and you own the business? It happens to all of us, and it’s particularly true at the end of summer.
1. Take Action. Taking action — almost any action — helps re-motivate you.
2. Remind yourself of your long-term goals.
3. Attend or exhibit at a trade shows or conference.
4. Start working on holiday sales.
5. Summer businesses — build a reserve.
6. Develop an annual business plan and/or marketing plan.
7. Stay on top of suppliers.
