Richard Ludlow turned down a job offer from McKinsey and deferred admission to Harvard Business School to start Academic Earth, an online hub for videos of university lectures and other educational content.
Backed by angel funding, the goal of Academic Earth, which Ludlow plans to launch in September, is to make university lectures and course material widely available online so as to lower the cost of education around the world.
University lectures will be offered for free, but Ludlow plans to monetize other content—for instance, lectures from think tanks—with advertising deals, subscriptions, and sales of such related services as tutoring.

Academic Earth sounds like a really great idea to bring the planet a little closer to equal opportunities. It’s a small step, but I think if everyone tried to make a small difference, it would add up to a lot. I use Give2Network.com to help out my class in school when we fundraise for new gear or trips. I like to think that my downloading the toolbar to help out any way I can is my contribution, for now. I’m glad to see others are trying to do the same.
In case anyone is interested, the Give 2 Network site also lets you switch between charities (or schools) when you use the toolbar to search. Searching and shopping earns money for them when you use the toolbar.

Just like gasoline, tuition fees also were continue to increase. Every school year start, they are increasing. How many students have not continue their studies because their parents cannot longer afford to send them to school.
Academic Earth is really a very nice idea!
