Franchisee Looking To Hand Over The Club 50 Fitness Torch

If you love fitness and you’re in the market for a business opportunity within the Las Cruces, New Mexico area, then you should meet Karen Greenstein. She does not want to close down her business, but she is no longer able to keep it running. Rather than give up, Karen is looking to give away her Club 50 Fitness franchise to the right person! The only required fee is the transfer fee which is required by the franchiser.

Does this sound like an opportunity that you’d be interested in? Karen has taken the time to share some more information about the business with us.

What is the name of your business? How long has it been open? Where is it located?

Club 50 Fitness has been doing business in Las Cruces, NM since January, 2007. It is a circuit training club for men and women over the age of 50. It provides a comfortable alternative for older people who want to exercise without the body builders and supermodel types around them. We concentrate on strength training and building lean body mass (muscle and bone). There is an aerobic component to the workout as well for burning calories and fat. There is a set routine that’s easy to follow and once you show the members how to use all the equipment it pretty much runs itself.

We sell memberships and ask the customer for a 1 year commitment to begin with. Membership fee is $29 per month for individuals, $25 per month each for couples. There is a one time enrollment fee of $99. There is a lot of room there for developing marketing deals.

What are you looking for in the individual who might be interested in taking over this location?

Someone who has a love of fitness and exercise and wants to help people. Also someone who can appreciate the friendliness of this town and the loyalty of my core customers. You have to be constantly smiling, upbeat and encouraging to people. I like to say I’ve been channeling Rachel Ray.

What are the requirements? How much will it cost?

All I’m asking if for someone to take over the lease obligation which is 2 years and 8 months as of January, 2009 and pay the $5000 franchise transfer fee. There are no other debts or liens on the business. The franchise fee is paid in full. It cost me $30,000 two years ago.

What are some of the benefits of running this business?

You get a place to work out every day and exercise is the key to extended good health. You meet nice people in the community and have good networking opportunities.

How can you be reached for more information?

By e-mail at [email protected] and cell phone 773-505-1831. Please don’t call the club because my members don’t know yet that I may close down. More information on the franchise in general can be found at www.club50fitness.com

Do you have any advice for those interested in this opportunity

Be prepared to put in some operating capital since there is no profit yet, but there is great potential here. Las Cruces has a huge retirement community and has been written up as the number one best place to retire by CNN/Money and AARP. Put that community together with the need for exercise which is all over the media these days and it should work. Here are some helpful links
