Nan Holloway discovered the inspiration for her business during a moment of exasperation.

While on vacation in Hawaii with her husband, Chris, Holloway found herself digging constantly through her handbag, trying to locate her cell phone, travel documents or mints.

“I’d hear the cell phone ring, and I couldn’t find it,” she says. Frustrated, the Colleyville, Texas, resident looked at her husband and said, “There’s got to be a better way.”

She envisioned a clear insert that would allow her to find her cell phone, a pen and important documents at a glance and could then be taken out and put into another purse when she wanted to change.

Holloway kept the idea in the back of her mind for more than five years. Then, in 2006, when her youngest started first grade, she decided to make her concept a reality.

The result? Switch It, a line of translucent PVC organizers that keep purse contents separated and easy to find and make changing from one bag to another a breeze.

The organizers feature multiple pockets for cell phones, pens, business cards and more, plus a removable wallet that clips in and out. While the inserts work with many brands of handbags, in 2007, Holloway expanded her business to include Switch It By Nan handbags, especially designed to hold the Switch It liners.
