Cedar Rapids Entrepreneur's Invention Makes Debut On QVC Today

The Gazette:

Cedar Rapids mom and entrepreneur Suzanne Weston’s WrapItFast makes its debut on the cable home shopping channel QVC at noon today.

WrapItFast is a novel gift wrapping paper dispenser. The WrapItFast dispenser has a serrated cutting edge that allows for an easy, straight cut, minimizing the need for scissors. In addition, wrapping paper is protected in the sturdy, refillable box.

Weston, a former emergency room nurse, caught the entrepreneurial bug while taking an eight-week “Fast Trac” course with her two sons at the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.

The Entrepreneurial Development Center in Hiawatha helped Weston test market her idea at a kiosk at Lindale Mall in the fall of 2006. The product was a hit, leading Weston to pursue an agreement with QVC.

WrapItFast appears on QVC during the network’s Christmas Shoppe program.
