Expansion On At McDonald’s Despite Economy

Cincinnati.com:

Customers of McDonald’s franchisee Terry Jaspers have not lost their taste for burgers and fries despite the sour economy.

And that appetite, among other things, has prompted Jaspers to expand her business here.

She plans to tear down an existing location near Tylersville Road and Interstate 75 and build a larger restaurant to open in late January at 7679 Doc Drive near Tylersville.

Jaspers will invest $1.6 million to open the new McDonald’s. The nearly 6,200-square-foot building will be similar to the modern architectural design of the McDonald’s on Union Centre Boulevard. The new store also will include a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi access, high-back booths and self-serve beverage area.

Jaspers built the new store after closing on the last piece of available land from the old Dudley farm, ending a nearly five-year search for a new site.

“We were not about to back off this land despite the state of the economy,” Jaspers said.
