The lawn greeting industry shows no sign of the economic pinch, as proud new parents across the country continue to rent 7-foot tall Stork lawn signs to announce the birth of a child at a steady rate, prompting home-based entrepreneurs to open lawn announcement rental businesses to supplement drooping incomes.

Carrie Bryson, owner of Sweet Greetings, a lawn greetings rental business, has experienced a steady rental rate of Stork birth announcements throughout the consumer spending slow-down. Bryson credited Sweet Greeting’s continued success to the joy new parents feel. “There is something magical and heartwarming about a baby being bundled up and delivered by the proverbial Stork,” Bryson shared. “New Moms and Dads can’t contain their joy for their new baby and want to rejoice with the world!”

Sweet Greeting’s lawn signs – also called yard cards – are colorful plastic displays that can be personalized and placed on the lawn in announcement of a special occasion. The company rents additional 4-7 foot birthday lawn greetings, and other occasion yard cards as well.

Bryson, the mom of three, used her experience in growing Sweet Greetings from the ground up into a successful business to create business start-up packages for others who want to start their own display business. “With the economy in question, many people are looking for an alternative means of income.” Bryson stated. “Small business opportunities are in demand by people looking to supplement their income or replace it altogether.”
