Election Of Barack Obama Doesn’t Help Gloomy Small-Biz Outlook
Small-business decision makers are shaken by deteriorating economic conditions and are increasingly worried for the future of both the economy and their organizations, a new City Business Journals Network survey shows.
The nationwide survey of 206 owners, presidents and CEOs of businesses with five to 499 employees was conducted Nov. 17-23 and suggests there has not been an “optimism bump” after the election of Barack Obama as president, at least not in small-business circles.
The SMB Insights survey shows that most respondents are worried about the economy, expect a long downturn, and are more pessimistic about their own companies’ prospects than they were a short time ago.
Business owner sentiment mirrored the most recent Beige Book report from the Federal Reserve. The anecdotal report from the Federal Reserve’s regional banks showed weakness across all sectors, in every region of the country.

Obama has not brought any confidence to the market and I don’t thing he is going to have time to do anything for small businesses. And now he has a scandal (Illinous gov) on his hands before he is even in the office.

First…i think most people need to give it a little time…it’s not like the minute the man was elected thing’s would change immediately over night. there is year’s of tremendous wrong doing and garbage that the poor man has to sort through before he can even begin to start fixing the problems at hand. not to mention in a recent news cast this week…president bush is apparantly making it very difficult for Obama to even do anything in the white house not to mention move into the white house…so we need to also look at the current president when it come’s to these problems.
