5 Key Characteristics Of Successful Entrepreneur
I’ve heard a lot of great business ideas lately — and more than a few people announcing that now is the right time to go into business for yourself. I think that there’s a lot to be said for becoming an entrepreneur during a down economy — although the risks definitely go up.
There are certain characteristics that can significantly improve the odds of succeeding as an entrepreneur. Without these characteristics, though, it’s hard to do well even with the best of business ideas.
1. Discipline.
2. Calm.
3. Attention to Detail.
4. Risk Tolerance.
5. Balance.
Are there any other characteristics you think are necessary? Share them in the comments and tell us why you think a particular characteristic is crucial to an entrepreneur’s success.

Openmindedness.
In today’s business environment things are changing so rapidly that you have to be ready for a change in direction with little or no notice.
Never be scared to change your business focus if you can see that there is a trend in a different direction from where you are heading.
Using my bookkeeping business as an example, there are many people nowadays who are sub-contracting out their bookkeeping services, because the cost of employing staff on a full time basis cannot be justified.
I originally started my business model as working for another company on a full time basis (albeit on a contracted basis), but now it makes much more sense to work for 10 different businesses during each week, spending about 4-5 hours each week at each business, because it reduces their wages liability and increases my salary because I can charge on a more casual (therefore higher) hourly rate.
More income for no more hours just because I have kept my eyes opened to the trends occurring around me.
