1. Major advances in Technology and Communication. 58% of women CEOs of million dollar companies consider technology as vital to the company’s survival, both as a means of production as well as communication.
2. Importance of Self-branding. Acquiring clients is as much about selling yourself as it is about selling your product. Nowadays, with the advent of online marketing, crafting a positive image is key for women in business.
3. Greater Media Visibility. From Mary Tyler Moore to Xena: Warrior Princess, television has been redefining the roles of women in society. This redefinition isn’t limited to drama and comedy; news reports of successful women have increased 11% in the past decade.
4. Increase in Government Incentives. The U.S. government currently offers a plethora of tax, loan and cash incentives to female CEOs and business owners. In addition, the government plans to set aside 5% of federal contracting dollars to woman-owned small businesses.
5. The Next Generation. Many Generation Y and late Generation X-ers aggressively seek careers where they can work on their own terms. This new workforce stresses free time and personalized communication over high-paying salaries and antiquated formalities.

I agree with this post in so many way’s when it comes to women in business. especially numbers 2, 4 and five. women are definitely under the microscope far more then men when it come’s to dealing in business, not everyone always’ trusts a woman for some reason. the government i’ve noticed does spend more money these day’s and it look’s like they will continued to do so, on women owned business’ and it’s always’ curcial to set an example for the next generation and let them know that there is hope and room for them to get into the business world and that they can do it just like the women before them!

for me women and men are eqaul,coz we are now in the world of both men and women are given equal right in everything in business,sports,even in goverment women are given a chance to serve and prove that, they can also be a good servant, how much more in business? i think women are also a good business icon!
