Casual Diner To Open In Blue Ash

Hoping to attract thousands of professional workers hungry for a fresh breakfast or lunch, Frank Foster is bringing a new restaurant franchise to the region.

Foster, 52, is investing more than $400,000 to open Rising Roll Gourmet, a fast casual dining restaurant at 4122 Hunt Road near Kroger. The nearly 3,200-square-foot eatery, expected to open in March, will employ nine people.

The 77-seat restaurant’s menu will include breakfast sandwiches, cold and hot deli sandwiches as well as many sandwiches made from the eatery’s award-winning chicken salad, Foster said. Menu items will run from $4 to $9.

Foster said the restaurant will appeal to all ages.

“The atmosphere that we want to create is Cheers without the beers,” he said.

The restaurant will offer carry-out and delivery service as well as catering services.

Foster most recently was head of training and quality for nine years at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Mason.

But to pursue a childhood dream of owning a restaurant, Foster decided in the summer of 2007 to become a franchisee of Rising Roll Gourmet, paying a $30,000 franchise fee.
