One very effective mode of advertising is in the business sign. These can be big, small or in between, and they pack a lot of power! But having the wrong business sign will also pack a lot of the wrong power. You don’t want the wrong message 10 feet tall on the side of an highway. Entrepreneur.com has some interesting tips about buying a business sign. Some of which are:
- There are many materials that your sign can be made out of such as wood, vinyl, aluminum and glass to name a few. Choose the one that’s best for what is going on the sign.
- When designing your sign take into consideration how far away from it viewers will be when they see it, the height, lighting, time of day and also the normal wear and tear that your sign will encounter.
- Remember to comply with your local zoning regulations and ADA laws before you go out and spend a bunch of money making your sign and putting it on the side of highway 12.
Their most important tip:
If you expect signs to change over time, look for a design that is easy to update or change. In many cases, updates can even be made by your staff instead of returning the sign to the signage company.
