Suzzanne Can Thank Grandma For Her Path In Business

Suzzanne Hall’s 15-year career in hair styling was born of a grandmother’s love for her grandchildren.

Hall’s grandmother, Sue Nell, noticed how her granddaughter enjoyed fixing hair. So after she died, her husband, George Austin Blitch, asked Hall if she would like to pursue a career as a hairstylist. Hall embraced the opportunity.

“He came to me and said he would pay for me to go to school and get a license,” Hall said. “I’m absolutely glad he offered that.” The idea to take classes was inspired by the grandmother who wanted to see her granddaughter succeed.

“She wanted me to learn to do this,” Hall said. “She wanted to direct my path.”

The path began with more than a year of classes at John M. Patterson State Technical College and several years of cutting hair at salons in Montgomery. More than 10 years later, she decided to move closer to her family and cut hair in Prattville. The mother of two became a hairstylist at a nail and massage business on Memorial Drive in Prattville.

“That’s how I got my foot in the door in Prattville,” she said.

In June of 2005, she moved her abilities and salon to an Alabama 14 location near the entrance of the Country Club Estates neighborhood. Indulgence Salon now has three stylists in addition to Hall, who all work alongside a nail technician.
