Brixx Pizza To Open In Turkey Creek

Farragutpress:

A local franchisee of a national restaurant chain has decided to expand his operations to include another restaurant, to open in Turkey Creek in late spring.

H.P. Patel, owner of the Salsaritas Mexican Cantina chain in Knoxville, will be opening a Brixx Wood-Fired Pizza at the former site of Atlanta Bread Co. off Parkside Drive.

“It’s basically a full-service beer and pizza restaurant, really. But there’s also a variety of pasta dishes and fresh-made desserts, some really good salads and appetizers,” Patel said.

“There’s about 24 micro-brews on draft.

“It’s all personal-sized pizza, thin crust, fired in a wood-fired oven, that gives it that wood-fired taste,” he added.

The restaurant is unique to Knoxville, Patel said.

“It’s got a very upscale feel to it and the price points are right on about $9 a pizza, which is very attractive,” he said.

“There’s nothing I could really compare it with… when you say ‘upscale beer and pizza,’ people automatically get confused.

“It’s not a stuffy place; it’s a casual place. It’s very nice, colorful and energetic, just like our Salsaritas,” he added.

Brixx was founded in Charlotte, N.C., in 1998.

“I just got back from Charlotte and spending a couple of days in the kitchen. I was really pleasantly surprised at how fresh it is,” Patel said. Read more.
